The Vale of Belvoir is located about 15 kilometres northwest of Cradle Mountain along Belvoir Road. Used for more than a century by the Charleston family for summer grazing, the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) purchased the property in 2008, forming a unique partnership with the Charleston’s for management of the land.
In 2009, members of NPT were part of a field trip to the Vale of Belvoir to provide the TLC and other interested parties with high quality photographs which became the subject of an Australian Geographic article (“Tasmania’s veiled beauty”) in June 2010. Many of these photographs formed an exhibition in the Wilderness Gallery at Cradle Mountain during 2010 and 2011.
